March 24 Can Anger Be Controled?Anger "Wise role models are a good thing to have. If you can control your anger, you'll help your children see the wisdom in controlling theirs." If you're saved by grace then you're in a battle between the flesh & the Spirit. We often refer to it as the "old man nature" (flesh) and the "new creature"(washed clean by the Blood of the Lamb). You would be surprised to hear of so many, many people who say that they cannot control their temper. Yet when they are in the presence of certain people (pastors, other parents, public places, police, etc.) they somehow control their temper. We, as people, do what we can get away with until someone sooner or later will straigthen us out. Then we learn our limits with certain people and respect their authority or power over us. I personally found my limitations when I found Jesus. I use to have so much anger stored up in me and would unleash it on anyone that would get in the way of me doing what I wanted to do. I was a terrible, ugly, rotten person. Then one day Jesus came into my life (March 1994) and changed my life forever. There came a calm & peace in me that was overwhelming. I didn't understand what was happening to me at first. I just simply didn't want to hurt anybody again. I wanted to love everyone & be friends with them. Jesus changed me so much that that "old man" seems like a total stranger to me! Now I really can't see me like I was then. Now I will tell you that I have been put to the "TEST" time & time again to see if that "old nature" would come back again. Thus far Jesus has kept me in His calm & peace. One day I hope to be able to say like the Apostle Paul "none of these things move me". We can only live one day at a time. Don't live one day without Jesus Christ. "I (old man nature) die daily". If you don't know Him as your Lord & Saviour then I urge you to find Him today. Elton February 22 Godly Wisdom For Children

The Lamb
Little lamb, who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee, Gave thee life, and bid thee feed By the stream and o'er the mead; Gave thee clothing of delight, Softest clothing, woolly, bright; Gave thee such a tender voice, Making all the vales rejoice? Little lamb, who made thee? Dost thou know who made thee?
Little lamb, I'll tell thee; Little lamb, I'll tell thee; He is called by thy name, For He calls Himself a Lamb. He is meek, and He is mild, He became a little child. I a child, and thou a lamb, We are called by His name. Little lamb, God bless thee! Little lamb, God bless thee!
By "William Blake" Abraham LincolnAbraham Lincoln was suprised to find when he went to school for the first month that his very first whole sentence was "Trust in the Lord with all your heart" from the school Speller. He told the teacher that "my mother reads that same proverb out of the 'Good Book' we have at home." Every night the Lincoln's sat together in front of the fireplace while his mother read from the Bible. The Speller used examples from the Bible. For Abe and Sarah the "Good Book" was everywhere. God's Word was as basic to their as air. Later on in years he had the Bible memorized, too. It was due to his habit of always reading aloud. He felt by using the two senses of hearing and seeing instead of just one sense of seeing he could remember almost anything he read. From "The Young Reader's Christian Library" |
